Silk King at the DivaGirl Fashion Friday Spring Runway

DivaGirl Fashion Fridays are a great way for female entrepreneurs and their supporters to mix and mingle in the name of success, substance and (of course) style! Which is what made the event a fitting occasion for a Silk King appearance. A special thanks to Caryn Parchment, Co-Founder of DivaGirl, for hosting Silk King at this event.

Taking place at the Elle Made Well Boutique, Silk King set up shop alongside other fashion vendors.

It’s exciting to be present at a packed house! What a diverse and sophisticated crowd.

A close up of the Silk King display, complete with brochures, business cards, and some lovely display samples.

Naturally, a crowd this size calls for catered refreshments. Haute and healthy, just like the attendees!

A Silk King team member helps a new customer choose a design and demonstrates how to tie it.

Here she is, proudly wearing the Fiesta scarf.

These classy ladies wear the Persian Breeze and a warm version of the Peacock scarves quite well!

Show time! DivaGirl Co-Founder, Caryn Parchment, kicks off the runway show with a heartfelt introduction to DivaGirl Fashion Fridays.

Cameras up!

A train of beauties.

So much potential for Silk King scarves to make a cameo on the featured outfits! Perhaps there is a runway walk for Silk King scarves in the future?

Silk King at the SRC Media VIP Mash Up

When Silk King received a special invite for to be featured as a promoted vendor at SRC Media’s 2nd Annual VIP Valentine’s Day/Family Day/NBA All-Star Mash Up, it was an offer couldn’t be refused! After all, the event promised good food, good times, good people and a chance to join the SRC Media ranks of “the true VIPs (they) call family.”

The event offered a “cozy and friendly family environment” to the ease of networking. This venue allowed the Silk King team, to demonstrate one-on-one the different ways to wear the scarves, and to walk the ladies in attendance through the styles available on www.silkking.ca.

The event proved to be a success, as Silk King quickly became a household name among the guests. Said Karen Dobson, Portrait Photographer for CPI Corp., “Great Pricing and great patterns! Can’t beat the price for real silk scarves!” Dianne Walters, Medical Administrative Assistant at First Medical Place, raved, “Beautiful patterns and designs. Perfect size, feels amazing!” SRC Media’s Director of Social Media, Veronica Hufana, has already taken note of the pieces she plans on purchasing. “I didn’t want to take it off! They look and feel fantastic!” Even the lady of the hour, Creator/Owner of SRC Media and host of the exclusive YouTube talk show, “The Show About with Simone RC,” Simone Riding-Cunningham was all smiles when she stated, “Outstanding pricing and amazing styles that will embellish any wardrobe.” We do believe there is more on the horizon for a collaboration between Silk King and SRC Media!

But Silk King’s journey is only beginning! Catch them next displaying their gorgeous imported silk scarves at “DivaGirls Fashion Friday Spring Runway!”

Silk & Shine: The Stars in Scarves

There’s no shortage of silk when the stars come out to shine. But these stylish celebrities prove that the right silk scarf is always in fashion. Here are some of our favourite silk scarf star sightings:

Olivia Palermo

Style icon/Fashionista Extraordinaire, Olivia Palermo wearing a silk Dior square scarf in a fresh graphic print. Only a fashionista of Palermo’s calibre manages to match the pink carpet upon which she tread this day.

Kendall Jenner

Model Kendall Kardashian sibling is seen in a rocker chic look out in NYC with a very on-trend silk Chanel neckerchief before heading to the airport to attend Paris SS17 Haute Couture Week.

Kylie Jenner

Not far behind on the style front is sister Kylie Jenner, seen here wearing a Louis Vuitton silk scarf in her Kylie Cosmetics Promo Video. She looks trendy and chic in her snakeskin two-piece outfit, accessorized with a silk scarf tied around her head.

Jennifer Lopez

Now, here’s a lady that demonstrates how a silk scarf can also bring the heat. The infamous, age-defying and ever spicy Jennifer Lopez is seen here enjoying some down time in Miami Beach in May 2016. Tied bandana-style to her head, a tropical coral-print silk scarf, the perfect complement to her rose-gold sunglasses and white bikini.

Blake Lively

Springing forward in soft layers in hues of blue and white, blonde beauty Blake Lively steps out and about for some flower shopping in New York last March. The airy quality of her wispy floral-print dress is anchored by a cozy navy cardigan. The cherry on top of this look: a striped blue and white large silk scarf for varied pattern interest.

Katie Holmes

Freed from Scientology but definitely not from style, actress Katie Holmes appeared in fine form for the pre-Emmy Awards brunch in Santa Monica last September. Miss Holmes offset her black ensemble pieces with a white blouse and a pink nature-print silk scarf and matching pink purse.

While there is an authenticity to street style, there’s no greater publicity or style outlet than in print or on screen. Here are the shooting stars caught on camera accessorizing with silk scarves.

Beyonce

The Queen B herself, Beyonce, ditched the crown in favour of a silk head wrap in her wildly popular “Lemonade” video. Here she is, in a particularly vulnerable state, with all her wind-blown hair tucked neatly beneath the wrap.

Jared Leto

What’s this? Style points for the men! Here is Jared Leto wearing a tan silk shirt and scarf by Alessandro Michele for Gucci atop pyjama-inspired black suit pants with white piping for Gucci’s “Guilty” 2016 fragrance campaign. Notice how this lounge look was essential to establishing the allure the ad.

Jennifer Lawrence

Last but not least, in all the understated elegance that powerhouse brand Dior can dish out, is Jennifer Lawrence, styled with a structured navy blue handbag tied smartly with a matching silk scarf on the handle. The headliner for “The Hunger Games” series and the upcoming film “Passengers” was chosen as the face of the new Autumn/Winter 2016 Dior campaign.

As you can see, when it comes to elevating any look, it’s clear that incorporating a silk scarf remains a tried and true style staple in anyone’s closet. An A-list celebrity status helps too. 2016 has certainly shown that silk scarves are always in season.
